How Hinge Helps Daters Keep Profiles Positive

Hinge Content Takedown

At Hinge, our purpose is always to help people connect and get out on great dates. A big part of that is listening to daters - learning what’s working well and where things could work differently. As we encourage daters to showcase their most authentic selves on their profile, we also understand that they value transparency and clear guidance on how to successfully navigate our platform. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new standard for how we approach profile content.

Now, if something on a Hinge profile doesn’t meet our Terms of Service, we’ll keep your profile intact, remove that specific piece of content and share clear feedback on what was flagged and why. This update helps Hinge be a safe and respectful place to interact, while also giving well-intentioned daters the tools to make thoughtful adjustments to their profiles.

Content Takedown Flow

How This Helps:

  1. More clarity. You’ll be notified and know exactly which content on your profile wasn’t allowed.
  2. Simpler resolution. You’ll have the opportunity to replace that content and keep your profile in good standing.
  3. Safety comes first. We will always prioritize the well-being of daters, and this is one more way we’re working to maintain the integrity of the Hinge community.
  4. Trust through transparency. The clearer our rules are, the easier it is to focus on what really matters: making meaningful connections.

We want Hinge to be the best place to date: honest, respectful, and full of genuine people. Our Terms and Community Guidelines are designed to support all daters, and our commitment to upholding them is because we believe that when you feel safe, you can show up as the best version of yourself.
