Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Compliance Program Manager to lead Hinge’s safety compliance readiness efforts across regulatory, product, and technical domains. Sitting on the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team within Trust & Safety, this role serves as the central orchestrator between Match Group Legal and Compliance, Hinge Product, Engineering, and Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders across our platform.

This is a strategic and hands-on position. You’ll be responsible for integrating evolving global regulatory requirements into Hinge’s product and operational reality - scoping, coordinating, and tracking implementation efforts, and ensuring long-term sustainability of compliance as a program. Ideal candidates will bring a deep understanding of digital safety and compliance trends, strong program management proficiency, and exceptional communication skills to effectively navigate both regulatory and product domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Compliance as a Program: Own the end-to-end safety compliance program for Hinge, including requirement triage, project scoping, stakeholder coordination and hand off, and readiness tracking.
  • Translate Regulatory Requirements into Product Action: Serve as the bridge between Match Group (legal, privacy, compliance) and Hinge Product, Engineering and Operations teams to define what regulations mean for our platform and how we build for them.
  • Program Manage Compliance Rollouts: Coordinate multi-stakeholder implementation efforts across compliance-related product and operational initiatives. This may include projects tied to user trust, data handling, moderation workflows, and regulatory transparency. Support teams post-handoff and ensure compliance initiatives stay aligned with requirements, timelines, and long-term sustainability goals.
  • Be the Hinge Liaison to Match Group: Represent Hinge’s product perspective in safety compliance conversations with Match Group. Provide clarity on feasibility, timelines, and platform constraints, while advocating for workable, user-first solutions.
  • Track and Report Progress: Maintain visibility into compliance project health through internal dashboards, external transparency reporting, and updates to Match Group and Hinge senior leadership.
  • Anticipate What's Next: Stay current on emerging safety and tech platform regulations and advise product teams on roadmap impact.
  • Support Long-Term Compliance Resilience: Lead post-rollout assessments, gap analyses, and sustainability reviews to help Hinge mature its compliance posture.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7-10+ years of experience in compliance program management, technical program management, or trust & safety - ideally in a consumer tech or platform environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs with legal, privacy, product, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing safety, regulatory, or trust-focused compliance requirements at an online platform is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working with engineering and product teams, ideally with some background in product thinking or Technical Project or Program management.
  • Ability to quickly develop working knowledge of product architecture, systems, and flows to assess feasibility and unblock projects.
  • Familiarity with digital safety compliance areas like age assurance, content transparency, user data access, or moderation workflows.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory frameworks and connect them to operational and technical realities.
  • Familiarity with global digital safety regulations (e.g. EU DSA, UK Online Safety Act, etc.)
  • Proven ability to scope and drive large, complex, multi-threaded / multi - disciplinary initiatives from ambiguous start to successful delivery.
  • Structured thinker who can operate effectively across a range of workflows, from well-scoped projects to more ambiguous, evolving initiatives that require ongoing clarification and alignment.
  • Executive-level verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to senior leaders across legal, product, and operations.
  • Ability to synthesize complex requirements and translate them for diverse audiences.
  • Someone who doesn’t wait to be told but rather anticipates, investigates, and informs.
  • Willing to go deep into the details to get things done and ensure success.

In early 2019, Hinge became part of Match Group. Since then, Hinge’s executive team has continued to set our mission, vision, and the working norms that guide how we show up every day. While some corporate functions are supported at the Match Group level, working at Hinge is unique experience — shaped by our people, our values, and our product.

TL;DR: We get the best of both worlds! Hinge still operates like a small, mission-driven company, and we have the stability and resources of a company that’s stood the test of time.

Of course! Having used Hinge or any other dating app is definitely not a requirement. That being said, we are looking for team members who genuinely believe our product can and will help people all over the world connect. Our team is passionate about the dating industry and we hope you’ll be passionate about it too!

Hybrid roles at Hinge are based in NYC and require weekly presence in our Meatpacking District office. The team values in-person collaboration and we hope to see everyone in our beautiful office space three days a week starting Fall of 2023. Each team will have some freedom to determine what works best for them, but we generally aim for consistent in-office days to maximize the opportunity to collaborate.

TLDR: Beautiful working spaces, lots of plants, even more food and snacks, dog friendly - 3 days a week :)

Relationships are at the core of everything we do.

And not just the romantic kind. We can’t accomplish really hard things alone—so we make great relationships the foundation of our teamwork.

We believe our three core values. Authenticity, Courage, and Empathy are what it takes to build those great relationships.

We are growing each week, but last time we checked, more than 320 talented and beautiful souls are a part of the Hinge team across all of our departments.

Paying our people fairly and equitably is really important to us! We offer packages with three types of compensation depending on role type and level. Most compensation packages at Hinge consist of base salary, annual bonus target percentage and equity in the form of MTCH stock.
