Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.

About the Role

Join Hinge's Trust & Safety team as a Product Designer and shape the future of safe dating. You'll tackle complex operational workflows while designing intuitive and efficient web-based internal tools that empower our global T&S teams to safeguard daters. This is a unique chance to significantly impact user safety and agent experience, lead the design vision for a unified tooling platform, and uphold Hinge’s commitment to safety. If designing for operational complexity, building impactful systems, and driving meaningful outcomes excites you, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process—from discovery and ideation to prototyping, testing, and final specs—on features and enhancements across our T&S internal tools suite
  • Partner with Research to plan user research, synthesize findings, and validate design solutions (e.g., interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing)
  • Translate research, operational requirements, and policies into clear user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Design efficient interfaces for high-volume workflows, data-heavy analysis, and critical decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Policy, Data Science, and Legal throughout the development lifecycle
  • Help establish a design system and component library for Internal Tools
  • Advocate for the needs of internal users and influence product prioritization
  • Leverage tool usage data and qualitative feedback to identify improvements and track design impact
  • Partner with adjacent designers across T&S to align on shared patterns and collaborate on key initiatives
  • Own and drive the design roadmap for the Internal Tools workstream

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience delivering end-to-end product design (UX/UI) for complex web applications
  • A portfolio that showcases systems thinking, user-centered design, and iterative improvement in internal tools, enterprise software, or other web-based applications.
  • Experience partnering with Research to inform and validate design decisions
  • Strong collaboration with Product and Engineering in agile environments
  • Comfortable facilitating collaborative workshops (e.g., journey mapping, design sprints)
  • Core Design Proficiency: Expertise across the product design lifecycle: research synthesis, IA, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and usability testing
  • Complex Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex operational problems with elegant and efficient solutions
  • Tooling: Proficiency in Figma and other modern design/prototyping tools
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Visual Craft & Design Systems: Detail-oriented visual craft and familiarity with developing re-usable UI components and other design systems elements.
  • Mindset: Empathetic, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity

Bonus Skills

  • Experience building, contributing to or maintaining design systems
  • Familiarity with Trust & Safety tooling (e.g., moderation, fraud detection, policy enforcement)
  • Direct professional experience designing tools specifically within the Trust & Safety domain (e.g., content moderation, policy enforcement, investigations, fraud/risk detection).

Salary Range

$159,500.00 - $191,500.00 per year salary

Something about the Engineering team nobody knows...

We're really good at Laser Tag. We've played twice now and we're very impressive. What I love about our team is that we always make space to celebrate and support each other in and out of work.
